Resources
Back in 2004, I started a tiny blog called SweetGeorgia that focused on hand-dyed yarns, knitting, and spinning. Over the last 20+ years, SweetGeorgia Yarns, the School of SweetGeorgia, and SweetGeorgia + Co have grown into a full-time creative business with a team of incredibly talented creators and multicraftual makers that I’m delighted to work with.
My obsession with weaving overflowed and so I started Lo Meets Loom as a notepad for me to jot down my ephemeral thoughts on my encounters with textiles. Ultimately, I love colour, yarn, making things, AND taking photos of it all. These are the tools and resources that I use for documenting my creative practice – the ones I actually use and genuinely love.

Photo + Video
For me, taking photos and video of my work are essential to documentation.
Canon R5
I’ve been shooting on Canon for over 15 years and love the smooth, buttery look to every shot. This camera is heavy-duty and we use it for portraits and some b-roll video.
Sony A7Cii
This camera is lighter and more compact and actually makes me want to carry it with me and take more photos.
Sony FX2
This is my main video camera now. It lives on a tripod and works for everything from talking head to close-up b-roll.
Filters
These filters live on my cameras:
PolarPro Shortstache Everyday Filter
PolarPro Peter MacKinnon Variable ND
Moment CineBloom 10% and 20%
Osmo Pocket 4
I have used this for every video call and podcast recording since it launched in April 2026. It goes with me everywhere, from trade show trips to travelling around Europe.
Osmo Nano
This is a super wide-angle action camera that I’ve used for making video shorts and taking wide shots of my studio.

A Guide to Photographing Your Work
Taking photos of your process and finished objects is so helpful to maintaining your notes and documenting your work. I put together a complete guide to photographing your work and it’s the guide I wish I had when I started.

Consistency is the hardest part of keeping track of your projects. This is the little tool I created for myself to make it a little easier.
Capture, Collect, and Curate
All these years trying to juggle inspiration and ideas with time at the loom and productivity, I have some thoughts on how I get things done.
