Silently Weaving Summer & Winter

Watch me juggle boat shuttles and weave the samples for a Summer & Winter weaving project. In this video, I’m sampling and testing, trying to see how many different optical colour mixes I can generate in each block. This is my prototype for a larger towel project where we explored treadling singles, Xs, Os, and Dukagång (columns).

I toyed with the idea of creating green and brown blocks to mimic Minecraft grass blocks. In the end, I chose a couple different palettes for summer & winter towels (blues and greens in cottolin and gold and purples in 8/2 cotton). But the name stuck and eventually the towels that came out of this was called “Bitmap Towels”.
